This is a short book, and easy to follow and understand. It is well layed out and individual who want to increase their swimming speed, and build up muscle with low impact exercises will find this book ver helpful.
What makes this book work?
Most swimming coaches may throw a swimmer into a weight room, and have them lifting with great intensity, and lots of repetitions. They may have their swimmer using dryland exercises for a lot of increasing speed, gain strength, to prevent injuries, or for rehab.
However, weight training is not most swimmers exercise of choice, and the keeping the schedule, and the grueling pace of swimming and lifting weights can deterred many swimmers before they see any real benefits. If this has occurred to you, then maybe you should give this book and the resistance band training a try. There is no heavy lifting schedule, and you are able to adjust a multitude of exercises as required, but its central purpose is a quick, easily followed plan that will produce results.

My only criticism of this book is that the author did not include more exercises to keep a swimmer engaged, and using more muscle groups. I do think that any swimmer would find great benefit from this book, and as resistance band training is almost injury proof (no weights dropped or torn muscles) can be done in 10-20 minutes at home. This will save a swimmer time from going to the gym, and give them more pool time. This might even give some swimmers more sleep time, which is needed to help muscles recover from the day to day stress demanded of them day in and day out.
